Position Summary:

We are currently seeking a full-time, seasoned Civil Engineering Professional to thrive in a dynamic work setting. The ideal candidate will be dependable, organized, and possess a strong commitment to precision in their work.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and finalize plans and specifications for various projects.
  • Generate preliminary cost estimates and rough orders of magnitude.
  • Review and resolve construction and design challenges, applying agency guidelines that necessitate judgment and interpretation.
  • Oversee project management to ensure adherence to plans, specifications, timelines, and budgets.
  • Coordinate contract payments and address construction issues on public works projects.
  • Supervise technical staff in drafting, surveying, and inspection tasks.
  • Compile technical reports on engineering design decisions for assigned projects.
  • Organize and lead preconstruction meetings with relevant stakeholders.
  • Manage consultant agreements for various services and ensure compliance with internal departments.
  • Facilitate the design of building facades and collaborate with architects.
  • Assist in addressing inquiries from contractors, public agencies, and the general public regarding policies and procedures.
  • Perform related duties as necessary.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering with a minimum of two years of experience as a Professional Engineer, including relevant project design and construction management.
  • Proficient in engineering computations and design preparation.
  • Experience to understand the roles of subordinate positions to effectively resolve issues.
  • Valid driver's license issued by the State of Washington or the ability to obtain one.
  • Certification as a Professional Engineer or Engineer in Training, with the ability to secure Washington state registration within one year of employment.
  • Must pass a federal background check and be eligible to work on public works projects.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with computer-aided drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD).
  • Knowledge of Washington State Energy Code compliance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and phone systems.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Familiarity with state and federal regulations for design, bidding, and construction.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and prepare reports.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Professional engineering judgment to achieve project objectives.
