Location: Moses Lake, WA

We are in search of a dedicated Professional Engineer (EIT) who thrives in a dynamic work environment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct a variety of materials testing, construction inspections, drafting, and civil engineering tasks.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports, designs, plans, and specifications for civil enhancements on diverse projects, including residential, commercial, and industrial.
  • Design, permit, inspect, and oversee the development of water systems, septic systems, and stormwater management facilities.
  • Select, monitor, and evaluate suitable construction materials for project applications.
  • Collaborate with jurisdictional agencies and clients to secure necessary planning and building approvals.
  • Engage with relevant professionals, such as architects and structural engineers, to address inquiries from contractors and the public regarding policies and procedures.
  • Oversee and inspect contractor work to ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Administer and manage both private and public works for bid contracts, including various bidding components.
  • Assist Project and Construction Managers in resolving field-related issues.
  • Prepare technical reports across different civil engineering disciplines.
  • Conduct Traffic Studies to assess existing and projected levels of service (LOS) on roads and intersections for project planning.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
  • Certification as Engineer-in-Training (EIT) by passing the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam.
  • Proficient in engineering computations and design preparation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Effective time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Business-oriented decision-making skills.
  • Capability to lift and transport up to 70 pounds.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Demonstrated work ethic and accountability.
  • Familiarity with computer-aided drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD) is preferred.
  • Competence in producing a variety of assignments, including drawings, specifications, and technical memoranda.
  • Strong technical writing and analytical capabilities.
  • Working knowledge of building codes, design manuals, and construction practices is advantageous.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with computer-aided drafting programs (e.g., AutoCAD).
  • Understanding of Washington State Energy Code compliance.
  • Proficiency in phone systems (Mitel) and Microsoft Suite.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations and standards for design, bidding, and construction.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and prepare reports effectively.
  • Proficient in both oral and written communication.
  • Skill in exercising professional engineering judgment to achieve project objectives.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

  • Work is generally performed while seated at a desk or while standing or walking.
  • Work is typically conducted in an office setting and outdoors, occasionally in adverse weather conditions. Exposure to machinery with moving parts may occur.
