Essential Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution is required.
Experience in stormwater management and sediment control design within the Washington DC Metropolitan area is essential.
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in civil engineering projects encompassing feasibility studies, conceptual design, preparation of construction documents, permitting, and construction management.
- A DC PE License is mandatory or the ability to secure one within six months.
- Proficiency in AutoDesk Civil 3D or Microstation is necessary.
- Familiarity with engineering software such as TR20, TR55, HydroCAD, Flowmaster, or similar tools.
- Assist in the preparation of land development design and permitting documentation.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
- A strong work ethic, meticulous attention to detail, and effective organizational skills are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Generate engineering calculations and design drawings for land development projects, including utilities, roadways, site grading, storm drainage systems, stormwater management, and erosion and sediment control.
- Thrive in a fast-paced engineering environment focused on plan production.
- Conduct quality control reviews of design staff outputs.
- Draft technical reports as needed.
- Collaborate with survey teams as necessary.
- Prepare quantity and cost estimates.
- Draft construction specifications.
- Manage Construction Administration duties, including responding to RFIs and Shop Drawings, as well as preparing as-built documentation.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in the Washington DC Metropolitan Area is highly desirable.
- Professional registration is preferred but not mandatory.
