Position Overview:

Bounty Hunter World is in search of a dedicated Civil Engineering Specialist. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic work environment, demonstrating reliability and organization while maintaining a commitment to precision. This role encompasses civil and geotechnical engineering responsibilities that support the design, construction, and oversight of both public and private sector projects. The selected individual will oversee assigned team members and contribute to various engineering initiatives.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in engineering accompanied by a minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience as a Professional Engineer (PE), or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in engineering calculations and design preparation.
  • Experience that enables a comprehensive understanding of subordinate roles, typically gained through one to three years of relevant experience.
  • A valid driver's license issued by the State of Washington for the operation of applicable vehicles or equipment.
  • Certification as a Professional Engineer or Engineer in Training, with the capability to obtain Washington state registration within one year of employment.
  • Ability to successfully pass a federal background check and engage in public works projects.
  • Proven experience in drafting reports, designs, plans, and specifications for civil enhancements across various project types, including residential, commercial, and industrial.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drafting reports, designs, plans, and specifications for civil enhancements across diverse project types.
  • Designing, permitting, inspecting, and managing the development of water systems, septic systems, or stormwater management facilities.
  • Selecting, monitoring, and inspecting construction materials for project use.
  • Collaborating with jurisdictional agencies and clients to secure necessary planning and building approvals.
  • Coordinating with professional staff, such as architects and structural engineers, and addressing inquiries from contractors and the public regarding policies and procedures.
  • Overseeing and inspecting contractor work.
  • Administering and managing private and public works bid contracts and their components.
  • Assisting in project management alongside Project and Construction Managers to resolve field issues.
  • Preparing technical reports across various Civil Engineering disciplines.
  • Conducting Traffic Studies to assess existing and projected levels of service (LOS) on roads and intersections.
  • Performing additional related duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

  • Familiarity with computer-aided drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD).
  • Knowledge of Washington State Energy Code compliance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and phone systems (Mitel).
  • Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Understanding of state and federal regulations and standards related to design, bidding, and construction.
  • Competence in analyzing, interpreting, and preparing reports.
  • Proficient in both oral and written communication.
  • Ability to exercise professional engineering judgment to achieve desired outcomes.

Work Environment:

  • Work is generally performed in an office setting, with some outdoor tasks that may involve exposure to varying weather conditions.
  • Occasional exposure to machinery with moving parts may occur.
