We are currently seeking a Senior Procurement Specialist to enhance our operations in the Addison, TX office.

Role Responsibilities:

The Senior Procurement Specialist is crucial to the Royal Electric team, responsible for managing and improving various facets of procurement operations. This role focuses on refining procurement strategies to obtain high-quality materials and products at competitive prices, thus promoting efficiency and cost-effectiveness across projects.

Key Duties:

  • Direct the procurement process by planning and executing the acquisition of materials and products in accordance with project specifications and budget limitations.
  • Guide and mentor Buyer I and Buyer II team members, offering insights on purchasing best practices, negotiation strategies, and vendor relations.
  • Establish and maintain effective inventory management systems, ensuring precise tracking of materials in storage and on-site to reduce shortages and surplus.
  • Work closely with project managers, field operations personnel, and other essential stakeholders to streamline procurement processes, enhance delivery timelines, and proactively address procurement-related issues.
  • Quickly resolve delivery challenges, utilizing strong problem-solving abilities and effective communication with suppliers, logistics partners, and internal teams.
  • Conduct thorough supplier evaluations, assessing criteria such as pricing competitiveness, product quality, service standards, reliability, and distribution capabilities to maintain a dependable and cost-efficient vendor list.
  • Stay updated on market trends, industry advancements, and new technologies in the construction and electrical sectors through research, networking, and engagement in relevant professional communities.
  • Collaborate with departmental leaders to formulate and execute procurement strategies that align with organizational objectives, encouraging innovation and continuous enhancement within the purchasing department.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on construction and electrical industry terminology, using expertise to support informed decision-making and improve cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline; or equivalent professional experience.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in procurement, ideally within the construction or electrical sectors.

Skills Required:

  • Proficient in procurement software and tools, including but not limited to Spectrum software, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), and inventory management systems.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, capable of engaging effectively and diplomatically with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and contractors.
  • Strong analytical skills, with attention to detail and a proven track record of implementing process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including experience in supervising and developing a team of purchasing professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic setting, managing multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining a customer-focused approach.

  • Compliance with all safety standards and procedures is mandatory.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout the workday.
  • May require lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, kneeling, crouching, and reaching.

Compensation:

  • Hourly wage range: $38.00 - $44.00
