We are currently seeking a Senior Procurement Specialist to join our team.
Role Responsibilities:
The Senior Procurement Specialist is integral to the Royal Electric team, managing and refining various facets of purchasing operations. This role is responsible for enhancing procurement strategies to acquire top-quality materials and products at competitive prices, thereby promoting efficiency and cost-effectiveness across projects.
Key Duties:
- Direct the procurement process by formulating and executing strategies for the acquisition of materials and products that align with project specifications and budgetary limits.
- Guide and mentor junior procurement staff, sharing insights on purchasing best practices, negotiation strategies, and vendor management.
- Establish and enforce effective inventory management systems, ensuring precise tracking of materials in storage and on-site to prevent shortages and surplus.
- Work collaboratively with project managers, field operations personnel, and other essential stakeholders to enhance procurement workflows, optimize delivery timelines, and proactively resolve procurement-related issues.
- Address delivery challenges swiftly, utilizing strong problem-solving skills and effective communication with suppliers, logistics partners, and internal teams.
- Conduct thorough evaluations of suppliers, assessing criteria such as pricing, product quality, service reliability, and distribution capabilities to maintain a list of dependable and cost-effective vendors.
- Remain updated on market trends, industry advancements, and new technologies in the construction and electrical sectors through research, networking, and participation in relevant professional forums.
- Collaborate with departmental leaders to devise and implement procurement strategies that align with organizational objectives, fostering innovation and continuous improvement within the purchasing function.
- Act as a subject matter expert on construction and electrical industry terminology, leveraging knowledge to support informed decision-making and enhance cross-functional collaboration.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline; or equivalent professional experience.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in procurement, preferably within the construction or electrical industry.
Skills & Requirements:
- Proficient in procurement software and tools, including but not limited to Spectrum software, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), and inventory management systems.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, capable of engaging effectively and diplomatically with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and contractors.
- Strong analytical skills, with attention to detail and a proven history of driving process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, including experience in supervising and developing a team of procurement professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining a customer-centric approach.

- Compliance with all safety standards and procedures.
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout the workday.
- Capability to lift, carry, push, pull, kneel, crouch, and reach as necessary.
Compensation:
- Hourly wage range: $38.00 - $44.00
