Position Overview

As a Case Management Intern at Wayside Recovery Center, you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of women, children, and families across Minnesota. Your dedication to providing client-centered support and your collaborative spirit are essential in advancing our mission to disrupt the cycles of addiction and trauma.

Internship Responsibilities

This internship is tailored for students eager to deepen their understanding of case management. The Case Management Intern will:

  • Assist clients in navigating care coordination to secure resources and achieve their treatment objectives while residing in supportive housing.
  • Research and compile information on various client needs related to substance use, mental health, housing, and the broader social service network.
  • Conduct intake assessments for housing and perform urinary analysis screenings.
  • Facilitate life skills education sessions for tenants.
Learning Opportunities

Interns will acquire valuable insights into substance use disorders and trauma-informed care, while also gaining practical experience in case management and collaboration with community organizations.

Note: This is an unpaid internship opportunity.
Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with experience or education in behavioral health services (such as psychology, social work, family studies, or related fields) and those who have worked with individuals facing trauma, substance use, or mental health challenges are highly regarded. Priority will be given to students familiar with community resources.

Ideal candidates are typically in their Junior or Senior year of college or possess a bachelor's degree.
