Job Summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Project Controls Specialist to support and execute strategic and operational real estate development efforts across our client's mixed-use district development portfolio and ground-up workplace office projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze existing cost data and produce benchmark information to inform project decisions.
  • Provide weekly reporting to clients, ensuring timely and accurate data delivery.
  • Negotiate costs with contractors, ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives.
  • Reconcile actual costs with contract pricing, identifying areas for cost optimization.
  • Contribute to value engineering exercises, leveraging expertise to drive cost savings.
  • Support Program Leaders in managing program-level data, ensuring seamless project execution.
  • Verify project compliance requirements are documented in accordance with client governance policies.
  • Manage document control, ensuring accurate and up-to-date project documentation.
  • Ensure QA/QC processes are followed, maintaining high-quality project deliverables.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of live data, identifying outliers, trends, and key performance measures.
  • Analyze project performance metrics, tracking action plans to drive project success.
  • Prepare written project communication materials, including charts and presentation decks.
  • Support the production of program-level reports for Senior Management, providing actionable insights.
  • Liaise with clients and project delivery managers to provide guidance on data management.
  • Respond to ad-hoc requests for data and reports, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Track cost review and estimate requests, ensuring seamless project execution.
  • Prepare documents as required by the team, maintaining accurate and up-to-date project documentation.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 3 years post-graduate construction industry experience, with a good understanding of the role of a cost engineer.
  • A minimum of 2 years working experience in data management and deep dive analysis.
  • College degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft and Google Suite of applications.
  • Advanced skills with spreadsheets, charts, and presentations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Drive to be proactive and self-motivated, with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to develop good working relationships with project teams.
  • Experience with client-specific systems.
  • Good organization skills, ability to multi-task, prioritize, and be a team player.
  • Passion and enthusiasm for construction and numbers.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency using spreadsheets.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite: Docs, Sheets.
