Job Overview

Turner & Townsend is in search of a qualified Senior Electrical Estimator who can effectively contribute to client goals through proficient cost management services.

The Senior Electrical Estimator will collaborate with our team and oversee electrical estimates and cost consulting for a diverse range of projects, including commercial, data center, industrial, high-tech, and manufacturing facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive estimating and cost planning, culminating in the presentation of the final cost plan.
  • Demonstrate the ability to estimate at various stages, including conceptual, programming, and detailed levels.
  • Support feasibility studies and the preparation of procurement documentation.
  • Manage all procurement activities, including pre-qualification, bid list generation, bid analysis, and contract documentation.
  • Engage in post-contract cost variance management and change control processes, escalating significant changes to management as necessary.
  • Oversee cost checks and valuations on larger projects, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in the cost checking and valuation processes.
  • Prepare and present monthly post-contract cost reports to clients.
  • Contribute to value engineering efforts and negotiate final accounts.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients and other consultants throughout all project phases.
  • Provide leadership to the cost management team as needed, ensuring accountability in all deliverables.
  • Identify opportunities for business development with existing clients and report these to the appropriate management level.
  • Propose enhancements to cost management procedures, templates, and products, directing ideas to the relevant business unit.

Qualifications:

  • Strong technical expertise in all aspects of cost management, including pre-contract, post-contract, and final account.
  • Exceptional presentation, verbal, written, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and other relevant software.
  • Excellent organizational skills, capable of multitasking, and a collaborative team player.
  • Thorough understanding of various construction procurement methods.
  • Experience advising clients on value management, value engineering, and life cycle costing.
  • Background in business development is advantageous.
  • Broad knowledge and experience across multiple industry sectors.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management with a Technical Focus, Quantity Surveying, or a related technical field.
  • Experience in large data center, commercial real estate, or similar construction projects.
  • Proven experience in preparing extensive electrical cost estimates.
  • Construction experience with electrical systems is essential.
  • Familiarity with all MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of electrical systems as they pertain to data center and commercial real estate construction projects.

Additional Information:

The salary range for this full-time position is $130K-$160K annually. This range reflects base salary only and does not encompass the total compensation package. The company reserves the right to adjust compensation based on the candidate's experience and qualifications.
