Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Project Controls Analyst to join our team at Turner & Townsend. As a key member of our project delivery team, you will be responsible for analyzing existing cost data, producing benchmark information, and providing input into value engineering exercises.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cost Analysis and Benchmarking: Analyze existing cost data and produce benchmark information to support project decision-making.
  • Weekly Reporting: Provide weekly reports to clients on project progress and costs.
  • Cost Negotiation: Meet and negotiate costs with contractors to ensure project budgets are met.
  • Cost Reconciliation: Reconcile actual costs with contract pricing to ensure accuracy.
  • Value Engineering: Provide input into value engineering exercises to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Program Level Data Management: Support Program Leaders in managing program level data and providing insights to inform project decisions.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Ensure project compliance requirements are documented in accordance with client governance policies.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure QA/QC is being followed to maintain project quality standards.
  • Research and Analysis: Conduct background research, data collection, and benchmarking against historical system data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Project Performance Metrics: Analyze project performance metrics and track action plans to ensure project success.
  • Reporting and Communication: Prepare written project communication materials, including charts and presentation decks, to support project stakeholders.
  • Program Level Reporting: Support the production of program level reports for Senior Management.
  • Data Management: Liaise with clients and project delivery managers to provide guidance on data management and ensure data accuracy.
  • Ad Hoc Requests: Respond to ad hoc requests for data and reports to support project stakeholders.
  • Cost Review and Estimate Requests: Track cost review and estimate requests as they are submitted by the client.
  • Document Preparation: Prepare documents as required by the team to support project delivery.
Requirements
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years post-graduate construction industry experience with a good understanding of the role of a cost engineer.
  • Data Management: A minimum of 2 years working experience in data management and deep dive analysis.
  • Education: College degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft and Google Suite of applications, advanced skills with spreadsheets, charts, and presentations.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Drive and Ambition: Drive to be proactive and self-motivated, with the tenacity and ambition to inject value and create solutions.
  • Teamwork: Ability to develop good working relationships with project teams.
  • Client Systems: Experience with client-specific systems.
  • Organization and Time Management: Good organization skills, ability to multi-task, prioritize, and be a team player.
  • Passion and Enthusiasm: Passion and enthusiasm for construction and numbers.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills and proficiency using spreadsheets.
  • Software Skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite: Docs, Sheets.
