Position Overview

AECOM is looking for a Cost Management Analyst I to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Program Controls Supervisor in the Fiscal Controls group within the Facilities Planning and Construction Division.
  • Assist in the management of various capital improvement projects, providing essential support to the project management team.
  • Collaborate with the Lead Cost Schedule Engineer and Senior Cost Schedule Engineers to forecast project costs and assess financial risks.
  • Generate reports, analyze data, and ensure accurate cost allocation in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Work closely with contract specialists to ensure proper coding and processing of contractor and vendor invoices.
  • Contribute to the financial closure of projects and contracts.
  • Support the construction management team in relation to project costs and schedules, utilizing tools such as P6 and Primavera Unifier.
  • Gain familiarity with financial systems and terminology, enhancing your ability to analyze financial data.
  • Research and compile data for cost and schedule analysis.
  • Develop an understanding of accounting principles and the ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
  • Assist in the collection of progress data and review performance trends.
  • Learn about earned value management concepts and methodologies.
  • Support tracking of purchase orders and subcontract commitments.
  • Foster knowledge of scope control and change management processes.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance, construction management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required due to the nature of the work.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in cost and schedule management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with project management software such as MS Project, Primavera P6, or Primavera P3.
  • Experience with Oracle Primavera Unifier, Primavera Contract Management, or similar tools.
  • Affiliations with AACEI, PMI, or CMAA CMIT are advantageous.
  • Prior experience in project controls within the construction sector is preferred.
  • Understanding of financial reporting.
