About the Role

The Fleet Maintenance Manager will oversee the preventative maintenance and repairs of fleet vehicles, providing direction to a team of diesel technicians and ensuring all repairs are performed in compliance with company, federal, and state regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direction to on-site technicians to ensure safe, efficient, and timely completion of repairs and maintenance work.
  • Oversee coordination, planning, and scheduling of all repair work to increase productivity and monitor shop operational performance and efficiency.
  • Provide hands-on maintenance assistance and training as needed to ensure opportunity for personal and professional growth among technicians.
  • Maintain an ongoing preventative maintenance program to set the standard for service excellence and identify trends in road calls and break downs, controlling maintenance costs related to personnel, purchasing, inventory control, and outsourcing of repairs.
  • Perform inspections of outside repairs and maintenance to ensure all work is properly completed in accordance with company safety and compliance procedures and federal and state regulations.
  • Maintain advanced knowledge of engine, emission systems, transmission, brake, hydraulic, and electrical systems of company vehicles.
  • Manage professional business relationships with external vendors and maintain knowledge of all equipment warranties.
  • Make purchases, manage inventory, complete warranty recovery, and repair order processing utilizing maintenance management software.
  • Execute parts inventory management processes, including conducting physical inventory, parts ordering, receiving, coordinating parts pick-up and delivery, and stocking inventory.
  • Demonstrate effective leadership skills and ensure compliance with all applicable corporate, federal, and state rules and regulations by communicating clear goals and providing coaching and development opportunities to ensure employees achieve necessary skills and organizational results.
  • Participate in training and other learning opportunities to expand knowledge of the company, products, sales, and services, and perform any other duties needed to help drive the company's vision, fulfill its mission, and abide by its core values.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED and must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • 5 or more years of experience, with 3 years of leadership experience required.
  • Relevant certifications in safety training and techniques for process improvements preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong customer service orientation required.
  • Proficiency with computer programs, including Microsoft Office applications, preferred.
