Position Overview:
The Interim Financial Executive (CFO) plays a pivotal role in overseeing the financial management of Boys and Girls Clubs of Southcentral Alaska. This individual will significantly influence daily operations, aiding in the assessment, planning, and enhancement of our financial standing. The ideal candidate is a seasoned financial strategist, well-versed in contemporary accounting practices and adept at navigating capital acquisition and organizational change. As a senior management member, the CFO must possess exceptional leadership capabilities and effective communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
The essential duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Formulate, implement, and oversee the financial strategy for Boys & Girls Clubs of Southcentral Alaska.
  • Identify and pursue investment opportunities and alternative revenue streams beyond donations.
  • Manage and execute the annual fiscal audit process.
  • Supervise the finance department and ensure adherence to accounting protocols.
  • Develop and maintain a detailed budget by department to optimize expense management, cash flow, and grant utilization.
  • Analyze financial data and create predictive models to guide decision-making.
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop budget proposals and ensure compliance with contracts and grants.
  • Investigate revenue opportunities and economic trends, assess internal operations, and pinpoint areas for cost efficiency and process improvement.
  • Conduct risk assessments regarding organizational liabilities and investments, while managing capital structure and fundraising efforts.
  • Monitor organizational performance using key performance indicators and tracking tools, preparing comprehensive reports for the Board of Directors and management team.
  • Oversee finance personnel and financial IT systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Qualifications:
The following qualifications are necessary:

  • A minimum of seven years in executive leadership roles.
  • Experience managing annual budgets exceeding $10 million.
  • Strong leadership skills, integrity, and resolve.
  • Outstanding verbal, written, and visual communication abilities.
  • In-depth understanding of advanced accounting principles, regulatory matters, and tax strategies.
  • Knowledge of alternative capital raising methods beyond traditional credit sources.

Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates with the following qualifications are encouraged:

  • Master's degree (or equivalent experience) in accounting, business administration, or finance.
  • Experience in non-profit financial management and fundraising.
  • Professional certification (e.g., Certified Public Accountant).

Compensation:
The hourly rate for this position is $70.00.
