About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Executive Director to lead our Financial Counseling and Compliance team at Providence Health & Services. This is a critical role that requires a strong leader with expertise in revenue cycle operations, financial assistance, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and set standards for financial assistance and financial counseling programs across Providence Health & Services
  • Develop and execute plans for financial assistance and revenue cycle operations
  • Lead and participate in strategic efforts to improve financial assistance and revenue cycle operations
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, including the Affordable Care Act and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
  • Develop and maintain a high-performance team by ensuring staffing levels meet budget, all staff are fully trained and empowered to achieve performance and quality targets
  • Collaborate with education department on development of standard educational materials to meet each state requirement
  • Collaborate with data and analytics department on development of standard reporting
  • Oversee uninsured and charity internal and external audits
  • Develop and maintain system Charity Care/Financial Assistance policies, procedures, and processes coordinating with revenue cycle, finance, reimbursement, and other stakeholders as needed
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in General or equivalent education/experience
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Administration, or a related field or equivalent education/experience
  • 5 or more years of experience in revenue cycle leadership
  • 5 or more years of experience in financial assistance and financial counseling operations
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations and third-party contracts pertaining to healthcare reimbursement
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations as they pertain to collection processes and procedures
