Role Responsibilities

Govplace is in search of a motivated and enthusiastic Federal Sales Executive with experience in federal sales to cultivate and develop prospects that lead to actionable opportunities for the organization. The ideal candidate will assist Account Executives and the Inside Sales team in all territory-related initiatives. Responsibilities include:

  • Driving revenue by executing Govplace's sales strategy.
  • Identifying, qualifying, and developing new business opportunities within the account-based territory pipeline, including setting appointments, generating quotes, and closing sales.
  • Managing renewals for the territory in collaboration with Account Executives.
  • Handling all incoming leads for the territory by qualifying, engaging OEM partners, and co-managing with Account Executives.
  • Providing comprehensive support to Account Executives in all account-related activities.
  • Regularly interfacing with Account Executives to meet or exceed joint targeted gross profit quotas through new business generation and sales support efforts.
  • Building and maintaining ongoing relationships while proactively resolving issues with Govplace customer accounts and internal business operations teams.
  • Maintaining direct interaction with customers and advocating for them throughout the sales cycle.
  • Keeping a robust pipeline of opportunities within designated government agencies.
  • Continuously assessing the efficiency and accuracy of work performed and recommending procedural modifications for ongoing improvement.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 1 year of relevant government sales experience.
  • Proficiency in prospecting, cold calling, and closing sales is essential for this role.
  • Sales-oriented, responsive, creative, and proactive with the ability to analyze customer needs and propose effective solutions.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in a government contracting environment.
  • Ability to think critically and utilize business development skills to identify, qualify, and cultivate long-term profitable relationships with both new and existing accounts.
