We invite you to consider a role with the Central California Alliance for Health as a Human Resources Representative within our Human Resources Department.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position reports directly to the Human Resources Manager and encompasses various Human Resources (HR) functions, including employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding and offboarding processes, policy enforcement, data oversight, compliance with employment laws, and administration of benefits and leave.
You will serve as a primary contact for inquiries, concerns, and requests from both employees and management.
Your collaboration with HR and organizational leaders will be essential in managing performance evaluations and providing guidance to leadership.
You will assist in navigating and resolving employee relations issues from start to finish while maintaining comprehensive documentation.
This role will emphasize analytical and operational aspects of HR while ensuring familiarity with employee relations and benefits.

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Proficiency in Excel (familiarity with Pivot tables) or a strong desire to learn and develop skills
- Initiative and critical thinking abilities to effectively address complex employee relations issues
- Good judgment, tact, and diplomacy when interacting with diverse stakeholders, particularly in managing intricate leave situations
- A sense of ownership over their responsibilities, prioritizing tasks amidst competing deadlines while keeping the broader organizational goals in perspective
- Support for employee engagement initiatives through onboarding and offboarding activities, data management, and analysis
- The ability to adapt quickly between various tasks while keeping the team informed of progress
REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS
Knowledge:
- Understanding of applicable federal, state, and local employment laws, with the ability to interpret and communicate these effectively
- Familiarity with HR concepts, employee relations, compensation management, training, and awareness of their impact on other functional areas
- Knowledge of HR programs, services, policies, and practices, or where to find relevant information
Skills:
- Ability to produce work with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy within deadlines
- Proficiency in researching, interpreting, summarizing, and presenting complex information from various sources, including policies and regulations
- Analytical skills to assess information, consider potential risks, and develop innovative and effective recommendations or solutions
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field
- A minimum of three years of directly related HR experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This position is associated with our Santa Cruz office, and occasional onsite presence will be required.
We operate in a hybrid work environment, and interviews will be conducted remotely via Microsoft Teams.
While some employees may work fully remotely, attendance at quarterly company-wide events or departmental meetings will be expected.
The compensation range for this position is determined by location and is influenced by our compensation philosophy, the qualifications of the selected candidate, and other factors such as internal equity and market conditions.
Santa Cruz County Pay Range:
$74,000 - $119,163.20 USD
