Position Overview:

Vitis Energy, LLC is in search of a dedicated Staff Accountant to deliver a proactive and engaging experience within a diverse corporate structure. This position presents significant opportunities for career advancement and skill enhancement. The ideal candidate should possess a robust background in generating and analyzing monthly financial statements, executing end-of-month closing activities, and conducting account reconciliations across various business units. Additionally, this role involves assisting with a wide range of accounting tasks, including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, journal entries, reconciliations, and various administrative responsibilities as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately prepares and maintains comprehensive records and reports related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll activities.
  • Facilitates audit processes by supplying necessary documentation and records to auditors.
  • Identifies opportunities for enhancements in payroll accounting software, systems, and procedures.
  • Engages in general cost accounting and other related functions.
  • Reviews coding for all accounts payable and accounts receivable entries to ensure proper reconciliation and month-end billing.
  • Takes ownership of the accounts payable process, assigning tasks to support staff as needed.
  • Conducts forensic accounting and reconciliations when required.
  • Provides analytical support for complex loan transactions to senior management.

Qualifications:

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience is mandatory.
  • Comprehensive understanding of accounting practices, including preparation, balancing, and internal controls.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, alongside strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is essential.

Physical Demands:

  • Extended periods of sitting at a workstation and engaging with a computer.
  • Ability to frequently lift or move items weighing up to 10 pounds.
  • Capability to occasionally lift or move items weighing up to 25 pounds.

Travel Requirements: As necessary; potential overnight travel is less than 10%.
