Job Summary

As a key member of our team at InsideHigherEd, the Contract Director - Business Development and Operations will oversee the creation, execution, and maintenance of contracts, ensuring they meet legal requirements. This role involves drafting, managing, and negotiating all forms of contracts and managing corporate documents and agreements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contract Management: Oversee contract and agreement drafting, negotiating, execution, amendments, and maintenance for our entrepreneurial ventures. This includes options, licenses, material transfer agreements, confidentiality agreements, and other types of contracts.
  • Liaison and Communication: Serve as the primary liaison for contractual issues with our partners, as well as our internal teams, including our Office of General Counsel and Contract Administration personnel.
  • Policy and Procurement: Monitor and advise on our company policy, procurement, and vendor contract matters as they relate to agreements and operations.
  • Contract Reviews: Support and coordinate with our Office of Sponsored Projects on contract reviews.
  • Contract Templates: Review, update, and maintain our contract templates.
  • Contract Documentation: Manage contract documentation in our database(s): track, analyze, and utilize data and metrics to ensure stakeholder satisfaction and continual process improvement.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree with a Paralegal Certification.
  • Experience: Contract management and negotiation experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree: Juris Doctor degree.
  • Industry Experience: Experience working in a law firm or the contracts department of a startup or large company.
  • Entrepreneurial Environment: Experience with performing in highly entrepreneurial, fast-paced environments with continual change.
