Billing Operations Manager

A prominent global legal firm is in search of a Billing Operations Manager to enhance their vibrant accounting division.
The Billing Operations Manager plays a crucial role within the firm's financial team, overseeing and executing all tasks associated with the billing procedure. This position involves providing comprehensive support to billing attorneys, secretarial staff, practice office personnel, and clients regarding all billing-related matters. The manager will also be responsible for preparing and scrutinizing intricate client invoices, ensuring adherence to client specifications, internal standards, and firm policies.
Furthermore, this role requires proactive management of inventory to ensure timely billing and effective collections.
Key Responsibilities:
- Acting as a key point of contact between billing attorneys and secretarial teams, practice office billing personnel, and client representatives by delivering expert-level support and addressing inquiries promptly.
- Engaging with clients to ensure their requests from the billing team are fulfilled; providing updates on task statuses and collaborating with global billing teams for local logistical and technical assistance.
- Collaborating with local Finance Committee members to support their objectives; preparing for and participating in quarterly Finance Committee discussions and facilitating actionable follow-ups.
- Working with the eBilling team to implement corrective measures for future submissions.
- Generating and reviewing Proformas from Elite 3E, whether from existing charges or creating new ones.
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma is required, with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline preferred.
- At least six (6) years of experience in general accounting practices, including a minimum of five (5) years specifically in law firm billing processes.
- Prior experience with a professional services billing operations system is preferred.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a capacity to inspire and motivate colleagues.
- Ability to cultivate a growth mindset and drive ongoing improvements.
- Capability to work collaboratively, effectively communicate across teams, and build robust relationships.
- Proven ability to manage projects independently and deliver results.
- Analytical skills necessary to accurately interpret and convey data.
- Ability to prioritize tasks efficiently and manage multiple projects simultaneously without sacrificing quality.
