Job Title: Finance Manager

At Ethos Holding Corp., we are seeking a highly skilled Finance Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing accounting support for high-level projects and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead monthly financial closing, prepare and input journal entries.
  • Perform general account analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements, fixed assets, employer's benefit costs, accruals, and prepaid expenses.
  • Process monthly accruals, amortization of prepaid expenses, fixed assets depreciation, and recording of adjusting and reclassification journal entries. Inform timely and update insurance company of all asset changes.
  • Assist with the day-to-day, monthly, and year-end operations of the Finance Department.
  • Record fixed assets by creating and supervising a system of procedures, forms, and controls.
  • Ability to lead efforts that support external auditors during reviews and audits.
  • Develop financial reports such as financial statements, daily cash position reporting, and key financial metrics.
  • Provide assistance within both costing and financial areas of the Finance department with work on projects to improve systems and procedures.
  • Review postings within the G/L for accurate accounts and costs at time of receipt.
  • Provides accounting support for review of product margins and costs for existing or new products.
  • Protects organizations value by keeping information confidential.
  • Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
  • Guides accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and answering questions.
  • Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information. Assist with the management of federal, state, and local tax requirements, including coordination with tax auditors and government agencies.
  • Compile and analyze monthly sales and use tax data.
  • Focus on continuous improvement of work with additional attention on reducing and eliminating waste.
  • Help develop and implement reimbursement contract programs with managed care plans, commercial, and private payors.
  • Assist with developing payor strategies, relationships, and payor contracts to drive a clear and effective negotiation strategy, contractual renewal planning process, and contract implementation that aligns with organizational goals.
  • Works closely with the revenue cycle team to ensure accurate recognition of revenues, allowances, and payor reimbursements.
  • Assist with ad-hoc questions/projects as needed.
Requirements:
  • Regular and prompt attendance.
  • Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures.
  • In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Awareness of business trends.
  • Familiarity with financial accounting statements.
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software packages.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with colleagues, vendors, and partners.
  • High professionalism and strong organizational skills; ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree with a major in Accounting or related Finance concentration.
  • CPA, CMA, or MBA is a plus.
  • Minimum 2-3 years experience in public accounting or industry experience.
  • Cost Accounting Experience a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Demonstrate a focus on continuous improvement and process excellence.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in MS Excel including Pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Experience in a Laboratory or Hospital environment a plus.
  • Knowledge of Quickbooks or other multi-dimensional database a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work well both independently and on a team.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to think and reason on your own.
Physical Requirements:
  • Work may be performed in a laboratory environment and exposes the incumbent to normal laboratory hazards and chemicals, including biohazard materials.
  • Work in varying degrees of temperature (heated or air conditioned).
  • Position requires sitting, walking, reaching, bending, stooping, and handling objects with hands and/or fingers, talking and/or hearing, and seeing.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
