As a Youth Substance Use Prevention Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in advocating for healthy lifestyle choices and implementing strategies to reduce substance use among youth. Collaborating with educational institutions, community organizations, and local authorities, you will develop and execute impactful prevention initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement evidence-based programs aimed at curbing youth substance use, violence, and other high-risk behaviors.
  • Create educational resources that empower individuals to make informed decisions regarding substance use.
  • Organize interactive workshops, presentations, and awareness campaigns to engage the community.
  • Gather and analyze data on program effectiveness, participant involvement, and community outcomes.
  • Work in partnership with schools, community centers, and organizations to identify prevention needs.
  • Establish strong relationships with community stakeholders, educators, and local leaders.
  • Lead community meetings and workshops to enhance awareness and promote prevention strategies.
  • Participate in coalitions and task forces focused on substance use prevention efforts.
  • Conduct training sessions for educators, parents, and community members on effective prevention techniques.
  • Provide valuable resources to help individuals identify risk factors and cultivate protective factors.
  • Stay updated on the latest trends, research, and best practices in substance use prevention.
  • Coordinate community events, workshops, and awareness initiatives.
  • Disseminate prevention messages through various communication channels.
  • Engage with schools, parents, and youth to foster a culture of prevention.

Position Requirements:

  • Qualified Substance Abuse Professional with relevant experience and certification.
  • Valid driver's license and personal vehicle insurance coverage as needed.
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities.
  • Familiarity with State substance abuse and mental health systems.
  • Proven capability to deliver prevention programs and public presentations effectively.
