About the Role

Triton Systems is seeking a highly skilled Ocean Program Manager to lead the development of advanced ocean technologies and translate them into real-world applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead multi-disciplined engineering teams in delivering projects from concept to commissioning.
  • Provide technical direction to R&D efforts and bring concepts from idea to prototype.
  • Take ownership of project success across a portfolio of programs and maintain customer relationships.
  • Ensure a strong value proposition for each project by incorporating customer perspective into plans.
  • Find ways to hit milestones and overcome obstacles while setting appropriate scope for projects given budgets.
  • Create and manage program plans and schedules to secure resources and use them efficiently.
  • Drive for follow-on work by identifying and pursuing opportunities and positioning project execution plans appropriately.
Desired Qualifications
  • Department of Defense and/or US Navy R&D engineering and project leadership experience.
  • Ocean Engineering expertise in materials selection, offshore structures and moorings, naval architecture, hydrodynamics, and subsea robotics and tooling.
  • Mechanical Engineering expertise in drive train system design, weldment design, structural analysis.
  • Experience in undersea hardware system development, underwater/marine engineering, and the unique applications of working in a maritime environment.
  • Experience designing or specifying and operating hydraulic systems.
  • Experience conducting analysis of alternatives and technology review.
  • Experience with in-water, at-sea testing or other field testing, 3rd party witness/certification a plus.
  • Experience with offshore standards: DNV, ABS, BV, API, and Lloyd's Register.
  • Excellent technical writing skills.
  • Familiarity with Solidworks, COMSOL, MATLAB, LabVIEW, FLAC, ANSYS, etc. is desired.
Requirements
  • BS in Ocean, Mechanical, Structural Engineering or related engineering field. Advanced degree and/or professional engineer license is a plus.
  • 5+ years' experience working in R&D program management is desired.
