Job Overview:

The Senior Operations Manager oversees the daily functions of multiple complex departments dedicated to providing outpatient care services. This role ensures that the team delivers high-quality, accessible, and cost-effective care, adhering to all relevant local, state, and federal regulations. The position involves the implementation and maintenance of clinical standards, budget management, and staff development, while ensuring that nursing and patient care services align with business objectives and meet established performance metrics. The Senior Operations Manager position is distinguished from the standard Operations Manager role by the complexity and geographic scope of the departments managed, as well as the level of integration required across departments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversees daily operations, ensuring compliance with the Nurse Practice Act, NCQA, and applicable regulations.
  • Establishes and upholds patient care and quality service standards to meet the expectations of members and internal stakeholders.
  • Acts as an advocate for patients, addressing care-related concerns.
  • Evaluates and recommends improvements to processes that enhance systems and patient care outcomes.
  • Assists in the development and monitoring of budgets and resource allocations.
  • Tracks financial performance, identifying strategies to reduce costs while enhancing quality of care and services.
  • Determines optimal staffing levels and develops processes for recruiting, hiring, training, and maintaining staff competency.
  • Facilitates ongoing staff development initiatives.
  • Implements and monitors departmental policies and procedures that align with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Collaborates with physicians and department leaders to develop appropriate patient services and manage daily operations.
  • Assists in addressing human resource, labor relations, employee safety, and risk management issues.
Basic Qualifications:

Experience
  • Minimum of three (3) years in a management role.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare, public or business administration, or a related field OR four (4) years of relevant experience.
  • High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
License, Certification, Registration
  • N/A
Additional Requirements:
  • Comprehensive knowledge of healthcare delivery in outpatient settings and quality assurance practices.
  • Experience in developing and implementing effective programs and change initiatives.
  • Ability to prioritize and make decisions based on customer needs and organizational goals.
  • Strong interpersonal and influence skills necessary for building relationships with medical staff, administration, and the community.
  • Proven ability to develop and lead a cohesive team.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in healthcare management.
  • Master's Degree (MPH, MPA, MBA) or a related healthcare field preferred.
  • State licensure as a Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or another relevant healthcare license.
  • Registered Nurse or Advanced Practice Provider credentials.
