Position Summary:

The Senior Principal Commercial Manager will collaborate closely with the Vice President of Project Services, Director of Legal, and Director of Preconstruction to oversee client contract negotiations, project risk management, and various commercial activities within the organization. This role involves assisting in the development, implementation, training, and continuous enhancement of commercial and risk management processes and tools.

  1. Identify problems and opportunities, providing long-term solutions while considering the broader business landscape.
  2. Support the Group Vice President in formulating strategic vision, budgets, and business plans.
  3. Maintain professional relationships with clients, representing the company with integrity.
  4. Collaborate with senior management to achieve strategic goals and enhance operational processes.

Results Orientation:

  1. Execute MasTec Industrial's strategic priorities while promoting a results-driven environment.

Project Management:

  1. Coordinate with the Estimating Department for bid evaluations and project preparations.
  2. Lead client contract negotiations and detailed contract reviews.
  3. Support preconstruction teams in aligning project schedules and scopes.

Risk Management:

  1. Facilitate risk identification and management sessions for all projects.
  2. Collaborate with finance teams to analyze cost models pre-contract signing.

Process Improvement:

  1. Implement and enhance commercial management standard operating procedures.
  2. Conduct audits to ensure adherence to risk management protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Over 10 years of relevant experience in commercial management.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in computer applications and multitasking in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment:

  • This full-time position typically requires 50 hours of work per week, with travel up to 90% to project sites.
