Key Responsibilities
The Senior Manager of Maintenance Control holds overall accountability, including staffing and budgeting for the department. This role serves as the senior authority in system operation decisions and facilitates communication and coordination with Flight Dispatch, System Operations Control, Station Operations, Line and Heavy Maintenance, Inspection, Engineering, and Purchasing to ensure ongoing safety.
Primary Duties
- Oversee, monitor, and coordinate Safety Management System (SMS) activities as directed, including:
- Facilitating the development, implementation, maintenance, and integration of the SMS across Frontier.
- Identifying hazards and conducting safety risk assessments, including change management.
- Ensuring the effectiveness of safety risk controls.
- Promoting safety and maintaining a high level of integrity by demonstrating responsibility for situational responses based on workplace norms.
- Advising the accountable executive on SMS performance and areas for improvement.
- Accountable for achieving safety performance related to job tasks and maintaining high engagement levels during and after regular work hours.
- Managing risk to acceptable levels as defined by Frontier's risk matrix.
- Supervise daily activities of the Maintenance Control Center (MCC), ensuring the continual safety of aircraft for scheduled services. This includes ensuring seamless personnel transitions and continuous updates on fleet-wide mechanical status to the Director of Maintenance Control and senior management.
- Enhance the knowledge, skills, capabilities, and workflows of self and assigned personnel to drive business results.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of all airline operational teams.
- Engage in strategic planning and lead the execution of long-term objectives.
- Provide technical support and guidance to Line Maintenance, RON Maintenance, and Heavy Check Maintenance personnel, detailing necessary maintenance actions for aircraft discrepancies.
- Maintain a deep understanding of how this role and the department impact customer experience.
- Design and implement strategies to minimize delays and cancellations, take calculated risks, and foster innovation in response to opportunities.
- Create and manage work schedules, performance objectives, and training for MCC and Technical Services personnel. Monitor and prepare pay recap sheets, including vacation and sick leave.
- Act as the primary contact for the Director of Maintenance Control and senior management.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of all required audits and internal self-audits.
- Identify root causes and implement corrective actions for any inspection findings or Corrective Action Requests (CARs) in assigned areas.
- Oversee the quality of operational MEL/CDL/NEF Program processes.
- Manage the auditing process for all completed work packages, ensuring accurate and compliant documentation.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all assigned work documents and records.
- Participate in CASS, Reliability Board, GMM, and Action Item meetings.
- Exhibit strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including listening, non-verbal communication, questioning, clarity, conciseness, empathy, and trust-building.
- In departments without supervisors, ensure that all personnel have current training and qualifications for assigned tasks.
- Empowered to stop or ground aircraft when necessary.
- Authorized to make significant financial decisions regarding parts, services, logistics, and contracts as required.
• FAA-certificated mechanic with Airframe and Powerplant ratings
• Five years of combined heavy and line maintenance and maintenance control experience
• Five years of supervisory/management experience in a maintenance operations environment
• Attainment of a four-year college degree (Preferred)
• FCC Radio license (Preferred)
• Ability to plan, organize, and manage workloads for subordinates
• Must attend and successfully complete Maintenance Training Required Inspection Item course

Salary Range: $110,114-$146,157
In addition to your base salary, you will be eligible to earn an annual cash performance bonus, at the discretion of Frontier's Board of Directors or one of its committees, based on the attainment of performance metrics for Frontier and/or individual performance objectives, established and evaluated by such board or one of its committees. Your target annual bonus will be (%10) of your base salary, but the actual amount may range (0% - %20) of your base salary.
