Key Responsibilities

The Senior Manager, Hub and Station Operations, is primarily responsible for overseeing the IT infrastructure across all hubs and remote airport locations. Responsibilities include prioritizing and scheduling projects, tasks, and tickets to ensure the IT systems are functioning effectively for customer service at ticket counters, gates, and operational support areas. The Senior Manager will collaborate extensively with airport management, various business departments, and vendors to meet business objectives.

The Senior Manager will plan, coordinate, and lead several regional station operations managers and technical staff. These staff members are skilled desktop support or Help Desk technicians who travel to cities where Frontier Airlines operates.

The Senior Manager is accountable for the quality and productivity of their team and is expected to proactively identify and resolve issues related to technology, processes, and performance. They will also identify options and escalate issues beyond their control. Additional responsibilities include managing small to medium-sized projects, identifying operational trends and supporting metrics, documenting the environment, staffing, problem ownership, and providing IT insights to the business.

Essential Duties
  • Oversee all aspects of staff management, including recruitment, training, evaluation, motivation, delegation, monitoring, and reporting on activities.
  • Develop and implement standards, procedures, policies, and business processes based on best practices.
  • Act as a liaison between IT, Facilities, Stations, and other internal/external business partners to establish business processes and procedures for maintaining the airline's IT environment.
  • Monitor, record, analyze, and report on activities, trends, results, and recommendations related to internal/external business partner requests.
  • Conduct site surveys for new locations to assess business requirements and placement of IT-related equipment.
  • Collaborate with business partners to manage and execute station equipment moves, additions, changes, and other IT-related activities.
  • Ensure compliance with security controls for airport IT systems and networks, adhering to regulatory standards.
  • Report on the status of activities to senior leadership or business partners as needed.
  • Track and report on capital and operational expenses within their operational scope.
  • Utilize sound judgment and professional initiative to develop effective solutions to customer and end-user support issues.
  • Prepare and submit accurate team documentation, including work schedules, vacation schedules, payroll, reviews, and safety documentation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 6+ years of managerial/supervisory experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in IT, with extensive exposure to the full OSI stack.
  • Experience in the airline industry is required.

  • Advanced knowledge of Windows Desktop Operating Systems.
  • Strong understanding of network concepts and technologies.
  • Proficient understanding of Microsoft Server operating systems.
  • Familiarity with various infrastructure technologies such as WAN/LAN, TCP/IP, DHCP, Active Directory, DNS, and VPN.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure is a plus.
  • Strong troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Proficient in MS Office Tools, particularly MS Excel and Visio.
  • Practical understanding of ITIL V2/V3 and Agile principles.
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate a strong, self-directed work ethic.
  • Proven track record of managing a technical team.
  • Ability to foster a collaborative and cooperative team environment.
  • Adaptability to new and changing situations in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and effectively delegate incoming workflow.
  • Quickly learns new technologies and processes unique to the airline industry.

Physical Requirements

This position involves strenuous physical work, occasionally handling objects exceeding 100 pounds and frequently handling objects over 50 pounds.

Supervision

Considerable latitude is granted; the incumbent establishes methods and procedures to achieve specific goals and objectives, receiving guidance primarily in terms of broad goals. Typically, only the final results of work are reviewed.
