The Alameda Health System is currently seeking a Medical Clerk to join our team at Highland General Hospital in Oakland, CA. As a key member of our healthcare staff, the successful candidate will provide exceptional support to our medical professionals and patients.

**Job Summary:**

This is a per diem position that requires the ability to work variable shifts, including 12-hour days. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

**Key Responsibilities:**

• Extracts information from medical records for use by legal, health care, and other agencies

• Analyzes patient charts for completion and accuracy

• Takes and transcribes doctor's orders and case histories

• Acts as a receptionist in a clinical setting, answering phone calls and directing patients to various clinics

• Utilizes computer systems to request lab work, order supplies, and charge patients for services

**Minimum Qualifications:**

High School diploma or equivalent required; college graduate preferred

One year of experience in clerical work, with additional training in medical terminology an asset

Required licenses/certifications: CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (preferred for certain positions)

Estimated salary range: $45,000 - $60,000 per annum, depending on experience
