Position Summary

We are in search of a proactive and driven Project Manager to oversee our Water/Wastewater Practice. This role is crucial in managing projects from initial planning stages through to design, bidding, permitting, and construction. The scope of work includes various water-related projects such as supply systems, treatment facilities, and distribution networks, as well as wastewater treatment and rehabilitation projects.

The Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring the successful execution of assigned projects, maintaining client relationships, ensuring technical quality, managing profitability, and coordinating project staff. Strong communication with clients and team members is essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Develops and defines project scopes, budgets, and contracts to align with client expectations.
  • Manages project timelines and finances, conducting formal reviews to ensure compliance with established goals.
  • Delegates tasks effectively among team members and subcontractors, facilitating project meetings.
  • Provides mentorship and constructive feedback to enhance team performance.
  • Implements quality assurance processes tailored to each project.
  • Identifies and resolves technical, scheduling, or financial challenges through effective communication.
  • Assists clients during bidding and contractor selection processes, overseeing construction activities.
  • Manages comprehensive construction administration, including invoicing and fee collection.
  • Sets and manages revenue goals based on extensive industry experience.

Technical Delivery

  • Applies professional judgment to engineering tasks in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Takes technical responsibility for major design tasks, ensuring stakeholder alignment.
  • Signs and seals engineering documents as an authorized company representative.
  • Communicates effectively on technical matters with clients, demonstrating decision-making autonomy.

Business Development

  • Cross-markets additional firm services to clients and engages in professional activities related to the field.
  • Contributes to marketing strategies and maintains accurate records of client interactions.
  • Identifies project opportunities and participates in proposal preparations.
  • Collaborates in interviews and assists in estimating project timelines and costs.
  • Establishes and pursues sales objectives based on substantial experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in water/wastewater engineering.
  • Proven ability to market services, manage design and construction projects, and mentor staff.

Licenses and Certifications

Must hold a valid Professional Engineer (P.E.) license and be able to obtain licensure in additional states as required. A valid driver's license is also necessary.
