Job Overview

OBJECTIVE

With minimal oversight, oversee and facilitate the execution and completion of new construction initiatives and/or modifications to current structures. This includes contract management, coordination among on-site, office, and workshop teams, quality assurance, and comprehensive project oversight. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary. Foster and enhance the "Customer for Life" philosophy for both existing and prospective clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The following tasks are typical for this position. They should not be interpreted as exhaustive or exclusive. Additional responsibilities may be assigned.

  • Engage in the strategic planning and development of design options and solutions for significant construction projects; provide preliminary estimates, feasibility assessments, and cost projections, and may oversee the creation of fundamental design plans and construction documentation.
  • Formulate and manage project budgets, fiscal controls, contracts, and quality assurance measures; conduct project cost assessments and value engineering as necessary.
  • Supervise all facets of daily construction project management; monitor and coordinate activities performed by architectural, engineering, and construction firms, as well as institutional, state, and local authorities.
  • Analyze and interpret proposed designs, architectural blueprints, and building specifications to ensure alignment with required functions and/or institutional standards, initiating modifications when necessary; advise consultants and clients on optimal strategies to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Guarantee that project operations adhere to design specifications, submissions, and comply with institutional, state, and federal regulations and policies.
  • Establish performance metrics and delivery standards, ensuring that client expectations are met; prepare project specifications and coordinate procurement as necessary.
  • Authorize the issuance of contracts, purchase orders, and change orders, and approve contractor invoices for payment.
  • Direct work sequencing to accelerate project completion and minimize disruption to ongoing institutional activities.
  • Inspect, approve, and accept completed projects on behalf of the company, ensuring compliance with building and life safety codes, as well as architectural and engineering specifications.
  • Represent Baker Group in interactions with clients, consultants, contractors, and other public and/or private organizations.
  • Conduct research and prepare various reports related to operations, equipment, policies, procedures, and other relevant issues as necessary.
  • Perform various job-related tasks as assigned.
  • Maintain accurate daily reporting of time and equipment usage.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience OR
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in the related industry.

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES

  • Valid driver's license.

MENTAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Moderate exposure to unusual elements and may require moderate physical activity.
