Position: Automation Project Coordinator

OBJECTIVE

To cultivate and enhance relationships that align with the mission of Baker Group, fostering connections with both employees and clients. This role aims to identify opportunities for increasing revenue within the business unit by promoting and cross-selling the diverse range of products and services offered by Baker Group, particularly in temperature control and security systems. The coordinator will oversee projects from conception through to owner training, ensuring a seamless experience that upholds the 'Customer for Life' philosophy for both existing and prospective clients.

Responsibilities include providing sales assistance to secure potential business, reviewing estimates, initiating sales and operations transitions, and documenting project scopes. The coordinator will also oversee control submittals, assist in scheduling, and forecast revenue. All change orders will be priced to meet customer labor rates and markups. Additionally, the coordinator will set performance reviews and objectives for operations team members, while being accountable for project execution, documentation, financial management, and overall customer satisfaction. Other related tasks may be assigned as necessary.

KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Comprehend building automation systems
  • Provide and implement solutions for clients through collaboration with engineering and field teams
  • Continuously nurture relationships with current clients and seek new opportunities for long-term partnerships and revenue growth, including cross-selling and cold calling
  • Educate clients on the capabilities of Baker Group, not only in building automation but also in other business units for potential revenue generation
  • Develop tailored solutions for clients using internal estimating tools and standard product offerings. Collaborate with Baker Group team members to ensure deliverability of proposed solutions
  • Serve as the primary contact for clients throughout project execution
  • Participate in scheduling meetings with the Operations Manager to assist in labor scheduling
  • Engage in both internal and external project meetings, providing clear oral and written communication regarding information requests, proposals, and coordination efforts
  • Initiate turnover meetings with engineering and field teams to discuss project scope, safety, and timelines
  • Source subcontractors for installation, utilizing a documented procurement process to obtain multiple bids
  • Employ company-standard documents for business development, pre-proposal checklists, turnovers, subcontracts, purchase orders, warranties, etc.
  • Manage projects to ensure their financial viability
  • Ensure accurate daily reporting of time and equipment usage

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Science, Construction Management, or Engineering preferred
  • Experience in Automation and HVAC systems
  • Proven track record in estimating and managing automation projects while building and maintaining customer relationships
  • Willingness to travel and/or relocate as necessary
  • Successful completion of a drug test and background check as a condition of employment

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
