Client Accounting Supervisor

The Client Accounting Supervisor will be tasked with identifying deficiencies in client accounting, internal controls, and financial reporting, and will provide recommendations for process enhancements utilizing automation technology and accounting best practices. Responsibilities will also encompass the implementation of software applications, preparation of account reconciliations, and the delivery of financial reports to improve accuracy and relevance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple client accounts across various industries.
  • Oversee daily operations and management of client engagements.
  • Conduct and review balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Analyze client financial data and general ledger details for completeness, accuracy, and proper classification.
  • Prepare financial statements and essential management reports.
  • Assist clients with budgeting processes.
  • Support Tax Specialists in business preparation and planning.
  • Supervise and manage accounting personnel.

  • QuickBooks Desktop and Online
  • Various Payroll Providers

Daily and Monthly Duties:

  • Ensure timely, accurate, and professional delivery of client accounting services.
  • Act as a business advisor to clients, providing insights and advice on future planning while training client users on improved processes.
  • Collaborate with the team to deliver client accounting services related to general accounting and financial reporting, ensuring accuracy in account balances, performing reconciliations, and reviewing journal entries and financial statements.
  • Complete final reviews and approve all client deliverables.
  • Maintain effective communication by proactively seeking updates and clarifications to keep work progressing.
  • Continuously assess processes within client services, focusing on implementing efficiencies.
  • Propose solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity, sharing ideas for profitable engagements.
  • Manage time and projects effectively, communicating regularly with team members and delegating tasks as needed.
  • Mentor and develop team members, emphasizing core accounting and advisory skills through timely feedback.
  • Invest time in understanding emerging technologies relevant to our clients and services.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Active CPA license preferred but not mandatory.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and critical thinking abilities.
  • Self-motivated with the capacity to work independently.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in QuickBooks Online.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including Lookups and Pivot Tables.
  • A commitment to client service and a focus on optimizing accounting processes.
