Healthcare Risk Management Specialist

The Healthcare Risk Management Specialist is accountable for overseeing, coordinating, and executing all investigative and evaluative tasks related to professional and general liability incidents, as well as pre-litigation claims. This role involves negotiating resolutions with the authority granted by senior management.
Key ResponsibilitiesThis position entails collaboration and consultation on issues raised by Patient Relations that carry risk management significance. The specialist will also track organizational event reporting, focusing primarily on incidents that may result in harm or potential liability. Additionally, the role includes working alongside Quality and Patient Safety teams to analyze trends and identify areas for enhancement.
Qualifications- A bachelor's degree in business administration, public policy, healthcare administration, or a clinical field (e.g., nursing, respiratory therapy) with valid licensure in the state.
- A minimum of three years of experience in areas such as patient care, public policy, healthcare administration, business management, or legal support related to insurance and claims investigation.
- Certification in Risk Management or a Professional designation in Healthcare Risk Management is preferred.
- Proficient in utilizing personal computers and business applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel).
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation capabilities, along with excellent analytical skills.
- Must have the ability to perform a full range of motion, including walking, kneeling, standing, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching, and sitting for prolonged periods.
- Capability to lift and carry items weighing up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to thrive in high-pressure environments and manage diverse work situations while meeting deadlines.
