Job Overview

Position Summary

The Physician Engagement Consultant plays a crucial role in fostering and sustaining connections with both employed and independent healthcare providers within designated markets. This position aims to enhance referral processes and facilitate effective communication with all stakeholders involved in service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and nurture relationships with employed providers, practice managers, and referral coordinators through regular in-person visits.
  • Engage with independent providers and practice managers to gather customer insights, market intelligence, and identify business development opportunities to boost referrals to hospital services and physicians.
  • Collect and analyze data to pinpoint challenges faced by referring physicians and hospitals regarding available services and physician interactions.
  • Assist in the planning, execution, and support of new medical practice openings.
  • Prepare and manage monthly travel expense reports in accordance with budgetary constraints.
  • Generate comprehensive weekly and monthly reports on physician and practice visits.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
  • Support the creation of marketing materials for the employed physician group and relevant service lines.
  • Develop and keep current a database of physicians.
  • Facilitate onboarding and orientation processes for newly employed physicians.
  • Promote key service lines to physicians and medical practices within the assigned territory.
  • Coordinate promotional activities related to physician engagement, including office visits and marketing collateral.
  • Maintain continuous communication with the physician development team and marketing leadership to address needs and concerns.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in business administration, public health, healthcare administration, marketing, or public relations is preferred, along with 5-10 years of relevant experience in marketing, healthcare, or physician relations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Exhibit a professional style that fosters respect, credibility, and trust across the organization.
  • Self-motivated with strong time management and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform a full range of motion, including walking, kneeling, standing, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching, and sitting for extended periods. Must be capable of lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to thrive in high-pressure environments and manage diverse work situations while meeting deadlines.
