Job Overview

Position Summary

The Physician Engagement Consultant plays a crucial role in fostering and sustaining connections with both employed and independent healthcare providers within designated markets. This position aims to enhance referral processes and streamline communication with all parties involved in patient care. In addition to managing these essential relationships, the consultant collaborates with the marketing team to implement various initiatives and campaigns related to physicians and their practices.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Marketing, or Public Relations is preferred, along with 5-10 years of relevant experience in marketing, healthcare, or physician relations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Exhibit a professional demeanor that fosters respect, credibility, and trust across the organization.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with strong time management and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational, presentation, and interpersonal skills, capable of managing multiple tasks effectively.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the capacity to perform under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Able to manage and coordinate several projects concurrently.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must possess full range of motion to successfully complete a basic fitness assessment for the role, including walking, kneeling, standing, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching, and sitting for extended periods. Capability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds is required.
  • Ability to thrive in high-pressure environments and effectively handle a variety of work situations while meeting deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct regular in-person visits with employed providers, practice managers, and referral coordinators.
  2. Establish and nurture relationships with independent providers and practice managers to gather customer insights, market intelligence, and business development opportunities, thereby increasing referrals to hospital services and physicians.
  3. Collect and analyze data to identify and document challenges faced by referring physicians and hospitals regarding hospital services and physicians.
  4. Plan, lead, and support the launch of new medical practices.
  5. Prepare and maintain monthly travel expense reports in accordance with budgetary guidelines.
  6. Create and submit weekly and monthly reports on physician and practice visits.
  7. Maintain a professional appearance at all times.
  8. Develop and sustain relationships with physicians and practice office personnel.
  9. Assist in producing marketing materials for the employed physician group and assigned service lines.
  10. Manage, update, and maintain the physician database.
  11. Coordinate and facilitate onboarding and orientation for newly employed physicians.
  12. Promote key service lines to physicians and practices within the assigned territory.
  13. Participate in and coordinate promotional activities for physicians, including office visits, marketing materials, videos, and online content.
  14. Maintain ongoing communication with the physician development team and marketing leadership to identify and address needs and concerns.
