Job Overview

Position Objective: Direct and manage the operations within our production facility. This position is tasked with leading and overseeing departments such as Tooling, Engineering, Welding, and Maintenance. The successful candidate will possess a robust background in managing manufacturing operations, emphasizing process enhancement, team leadership, and meeting production objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic guidance and leadership to the Tooling, Engineering, Welding, and Maintenance teams, ensuring departmental objectives align with the broader company goals.
  • Develop and mentor a team of direct reports, promoting a culture of teamwork, innovation, and accountability. Conduct regular performance evaluations and offer coaching and mentorship as necessary.
  • Implement continuous improvement strategies across all departments to streamline processes, minimize waste, and enhance overall efficiency and productivity.
  • Promote quality standards and compliance with safety regulations within the manufacturing setting. Establish measures to guarantee that product quality meets or surpasses customer expectations.
  • Formulate and oversee departmental budgets, ensuring resources are effectively allocated to meet production targets and operational needs.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments, including Production, Quality Assurance, and Supply Chain, to ensure smooth operations and timely product delivery.
  • Manage key initiatives related to process enhancements, equipment upgrades, and new product launches, ensuring projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations, standards, and industry best practices concerning manufacturing operations.

Additional Responsibilities: The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that:

  • All business activities are conducted in compliance with applicable local, state, and federal laws.
  • Support and adhere to all local and corporate health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Quality is maintained by demonstrating accuracy and thoroughness, adhering to relevant quality standards.
  • Other duties as assigned are fulfilled.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a managerial capacity within a manufacturing environment, ideally in the automotive sector or related fields.
  • Proven leadership abilities to motivate and inspire teams towards achieving objectives.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively engaging with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience in budget management, resource allocation, and project oversight.

Technical Skills:

  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts and operations, including calculations and percentages.
  • Capability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos, as well as write simple correspondence.
  • Analytical skills to synthesize complex information, collect and research data, and design workflows and procedures.
  • Business acumen to understand the implications of decisions on the business.
  • Knowledge of enhancing product manufacturability through continuous improvement.
  • Project management skills to develop project plans, coordinate projects, communicate changes and progress, and ensure timely project completion.
