Job Overview

Position Objective: To lead and coordinate the operations within our manufacturing facility, ensuring effective management of departments such as Tooling, Engineering, Welding, and Maintenance. The successful candidate will possess a robust background in manufacturing operations management, emphasizing process enhancement, team leadership, and the attainment of production objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic guidance and leadership to the Tooling, Engineering, Welding, and Maintenance teams, ensuring departmental goals align with the overarching objectives of the organization.
  • Manage and nurture a team of direct reports, promoting a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability. Conduct regular performance evaluations and offer coaching and mentorship as necessary.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives across all departments to enhance processes, minimize waste, and boost overall efficiency and productivity.
  • Advocate for quality standards and compliance with safety protocols within the manufacturing setting. Implement measures to guarantee that product quality meets or surpasses customer expectations.
  • Develop and oversee departmental budgets, ensuring effective allocation of resources to support production goals and operational needs.
  • Work closely with other departments such as Production, Quality Assurance, and Supply Chain to ensure smooth operations and timely product delivery to customers.
  • Manage key projects related to process enhancements, equipment upgrades, and new product launches, ensuring timely and budget-compliant completion.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations, standards, and industry best practices concerning manufacturing operations.

Additional Responsibilities: The incumbent will ensure that:

  • All business-related activities are conducted within the limits of applicable local, state, and federal legal requirements.
  • Support and comply with all local and corporate health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Quality is prioritized, demonstrating accuracy and thoroughness while adhering to relevant quality standards.
  • Other duties as assigned are completed efficiently.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a managerial capacity within a manufacturing environment, ideally in the automotive sector or related industries.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to motivate and inspire teams toward achieving objectives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, facilitating effective interaction with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience in budget management, resource allocation, and project management.

Technical Skills:

  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts and operations, including calculations and percentages.
  • Proficient in reading and comprehending simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos, as well as writing simple correspondence.
  • Analytical skills to synthesize complex information, collect and research data, and design workflows and procedures.
  • Business acumen to understand the implications of decisions on the organization.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement practices for product manufacturability.
  • Project management skills to develop project plans, coordinate projects, communicate changes and progress, and ensure timely completion.
