Job Overview

Position Objective: Oversee the complete operations of production during the first shift. Achieve or surpass efficiency and corporate quality benchmarks by actively engaging in and guiding the efforts of team members within designated departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide supervision for the Equipment Production Team (EPT) during the first shift.
  • Champion and uphold the core values of Purem Novi Inc, along with the Safety and Quality Policy.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures; maintain discipline, consistency, and adherence to established rules.
  • Lead and manage the SQCDP performance metrics of the assigned EPTs.
  • Guarantee that workplace conditions meet Group Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards.
  • Vigorously address any instances of non-compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to standardized work methods through process verification and proactive observation.
  • Maintain a constant presence on the production floor to facilitate effective shift transitions, train and mentor EPT Team Leaders, and verify actual performance against planned objectives.
  • Engage with support departments to develop action plans, monitor progress, and escalate persistent issues.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and other supervisors to meet the needs of internal customers.
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels align with efficiency and timely delivery goals.
  • Actively lead or participate in the Quick Problem Solving (QPS) process when issues arise.
  • Identify and address problems at their root cause.
  • Oversee the proper use of the EPT board, ensuring it is complete, accurate, and current.
  • Ensure that high-quality actions are documented and executed as planned.
  • Facilitate effective daily EPT Top 5 meetings that provide value.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by challenging the status quo and promoting enhancements in work processes and environment.
  • Be accountable for safety and the enforcement of safety policies during the shift.
  • Maintain a fair and respectful workplace where all individuals are treated with dignity.
  • Oversee productivity, quality, and efforts to reduce scrap.
  • Provide training, mentoring, and coaching to shift personnel, including Team Leaders and Supervisors.
  • Schedule and prioritize maintenance resources for the shift.
  • Facilitate communication between consecutive shifts.
  • Encourage and support comprehensive utilization of SAP systems.
  • Develop production schedules based on committed forecasts, customer obligations, and validated load/capacity assessments.
  • Ensure product and process quality complies with internal, industry, and customer standards.
  • Lead and cultivate a Lean/Sigma continuous improvement culture within the production facility.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct all business activities on behalf of Purem Novi Inc in accordance with applicable local, state, and federal laws.
  • Support and comply with all local and corporate Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness in quality-related tasks, adhering to relevant standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Professional Background:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Commitment to teamwork and collaboration.

Technical Skills:

  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare reports and projections.
  • Proficient in mathematical concepts and operations.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and correspondence.
  • Analytical skills to synthesize complex information and design workflows.
  • Business acumen to understand the implications of decisions.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement practices for manufacturability.
  • Familiarity with engineering fundamentals and mechanical systems.
  • Understanding of federal and state regulations.
  • Project management skills to coordinate and complete projects on time and within budget.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement of skills and knowledge.
