Position Summary:

The Vice President of Bond Operations will play a crucial role in driving the profitability and growth of our branch office. This position involves effective management of personnel and resources, along with the marketing and underwriting of suitable bond classes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and mentor staff to achieve profit and growth objectives.
  • Establish and meet targeted net profit goals aligned with company objectives.
  • Evaluate underwriting submissions to ensure compliance with company standards; make informed decisions on risk acceptance.
  • Assess staffing requirements and oversee direct reports, including performance management and training.
  • Prepare and manage the expense budget to enhance overall profitability.
  • Stay informed on local marketing trends and advise the company to address market needs effectively.
  • Engage in regular travel within the assigned territory for agency visits, industry events, and meetings with potential business partners.
  • Utilize Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software to maintain an agency database and support marketing growth initiatives.
  • Train staff on CRM software usage and recommend necessary enhancements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a High School diploma or equivalent, along with a minimum of five years of progressively responsible managerial experience in underwriting, production, and marketing within the fidelity and surety sector, or a comparable combination of education and experience.

The Vice President of Bond Operations must maintain a valid driver's license and a satisfactory motor vehicle operator's record as per company standards. This role requires the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office applications.

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

This position necessitates prolonged periods of sitting, with occasional standing and walking. The role may involve lifting, pushing, or pulling items weighing up to 10 pounds. Ergonomic equipment is available to support employee comfort.
