Job Overview

Position: Civil or Environmental Engineer

Company: Maul Foster & Alongi, Inc. (MFA)

MFA is on the lookout for a dedicated Project Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in stormwater management, environmental restoration, or site development initiatives. A keen interest in land use planning, industrial site remediation, and brownfield redevelopment is also desirable.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop engineering designs and manage associated permitting and specifications.
  • Assist in the bidding and contract solicitation processes.
  • Oversee construction management and provide support during project execution.
  • Conduct fieldwork, quality assurance, and quantity assessments.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and proposals, manage project timelines, and ensure effective communication with clients and regulatory bodies.
  • Lead and collaborate with project teams while mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering or a related discipline from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Current PE certification with the capability to obtain licensure in Oregon and Washington.
  • Proven experience in stormwater design, environmental remediation, and site development.
  • Strong project management skills, including scope, schedule, budget, and client communication.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, particularly Civil 3D, along with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks and work in various environmental conditions.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in industrial stormwater or wastewater design.
  • Knowledge of utility design and construction oversight.
  • Familiarity with hydrologic and hydraulic analysis.
  • 40 Hour HAZWOPER certification with current refresher.
