We are currently seeking a Project Manager for our Transmission & Distribution global practice in our Vancouver office. This role will focus on overseeing transmission line design projects ranging from 69-kV to 500-kV. The ideal candidate will possess a strong entrepreneurial spirit and exemplary leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate all aspects of concurrent projects related to overhead and underground transmission line facilities.
  • Report directly to the Manager of Projects, ensuring the profitability and timely completion of projects.
  • Maintain professional relationships with clients, subcontractors, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Assist Account Managers in marketing efforts for both new and existing clients.

Specific Duties Include:

  • Prepare proposals, contribute to presentations, and engage in contract negotiations.
  • Act as the primary contact for clients, managing coordination, strategic planning, scope management, and budgeting.
  • Oversee project management from inception to completion, including siting, environmental assessments, permitting, planning, estimating, engineering, right-of-way acquisition, project controls, procurement, and construction management.
  • Develop and monitor project schedules, manage scope, and control costs effectively.
  • Assist with internal project financials, including accurate cost forecasts and staffing coordination.
  • Implement project policies and procedures, establish control systems, and execute the project execution plan.
  • Ensure deliverables meet client satisfaction and adhere to internal quality assurance guidelines.
  • Regularly report on project progress, costs, schedules, and any issues requiring attention.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of seven years of experience in utility transmission line projects, with at least three years in project management.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) registration and Project Management Professional (PMP) certification are preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, along with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Willingness to travel as needed and possess a valid driver's license.
