Job Overview

Position: Civil or Environmental Engineer

Company: Maul Foster & Alongi, Inc. (MFA)

MFA is currently seeking a dedicated Project Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in stormwater management, environmental restoration, or site development initiatives. A keen interest in land use planning, industrial site remediation, and brownfield redevelopment is highly desirable.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop engineering designs and manage related permitting and specifications.
  • Support bidding and contract solicitation processes.
  • Assist in construction oversight and management, including fieldwork and quality control.
  • Prepare detailed reports and proposals, manage project timelines, and support larger project management tasks.
  • Conduct thorough quality control reviews of work produced by team members.
  • Engage effectively with clients and regulatory bodies, participating in discussions and negotiations.
  • Lead and collaborate with project teams while also providing mentorship to junior staff.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering or a related discipline from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Current PE certification with the ability to obtain licensure by comity in the required states.
  • Experience in stormwater design, environmental remediation, and site development is essential.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD design software, particularly Civil 3D, along with strong skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to manage project scope, schedule, budget, and client communications effectively.
  • Willingness to work overtime when necessary and maintain a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Physical capability to perform tasks such as lifting and traversing challenging terrains.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in industrial stormwater or wastewater design, utility design, and construction management.
  • Familiarity with hydrologic and hydraulic analyses.
  • 40 Hour HAZWOPER certification with current refresher.
