We are currently seeking a Project Manager for our Transmission & Distribution global practice in our Vancouver office. This role will involve overseeing transmission line design projects with voltages ranging from 69-kV to 500-kV. A proactive mindset and strong leadership skills are essential for this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate all facets of multiple concurrent projects at both overhead and underground transmission line facilities.
- Report directly to the Projects Manager, ensuring the profitability and timely completion of projects while maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders.
- Assist Account Managers in marketing efforts to attract new clients and retain existing ones.
Specific Duties Include:
- Draft proposals, contribute to presentations, and engage in contract negotiations.
- Act as the primary contact for clients, managing coordination, strategic planning, scope, and budgeting.
- Oversee project management from inception to completion, including siting, environmental considerations, permitting, planning, estimating, engineering, right-of-way acquisition, project controls, procurement, and construction management.
- Develop and track project schedules, manage scope, and control costs effectively.
- Support internal project financials, including accurate cost forecasting and staffing management.
- Facilitate communication among project teams and stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
- Establish and implement project policies and procedures, and maintain quality assurance and control standards.
- Regularly report on project progress, costs, schedules, and any issues that may arise.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of seven years of experience in utility transmission line projects, with at least three years in project management.
- Professional Engineering (PE) registration and Project Management Professional (PMP) certification are preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, along with analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- A valid driver's license is necessary, and candidates must meet the company's vehicle driving standards.

The expected compensation for this role is competitive and based on various factors, including education, qualifications, and experience. The total compensation package includes a base salary and eligibility for a year-end incentive bonus program.
