Position Overview

PBS Engineering and Environmental LLC is a prominent entity recognized for its innovative and sustainable engineering solutions, driven by a steadfast commitment to quality and community engagement. Our diverse consulting services encompass civil engineering, environmental assessments, natural resource management, landscape architecture, industrial hygiene, and land surveying, catering to both public and private sectors.

We are currently looking to enhance our team by adding a Senior Civil Engineer who will play a pivotal role in our operations.

Compensation: Competitive salary based on qualifications.

This role requires a highly skilled senior civil engineer with a proven track record in managing civil engineering design projects and leading design teams. The selected candidate will engage with various public and private clients within our extensive portfolio, fostering new client relationships. Our teams excel in delivering multi-disciplinary projects that integrate the full spectrum of PBS services and strategic partnerships.

Key Qualifications:

  • Over 10 years of experience in consulting engineering, focusing on design and project management for local agency or state transportation initiatives.
  • A bachelor's degree in civil engineering and professional licensure (P.E) in the relevant states.
  • In-depth knowledge of civil design and construction standards, as well as environmental considerations.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet project deadlines and budgetary constraints.
  • Proven skills in cultivating relationships with local municipalities and utility providers.
  • Familiarity with local regulatory requirements.
  • Capability to devise innovative engineering solutions to overcome project challenges.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with clients, team members, and management.
  • Experience with design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation InRoads, HydroCAD, and WWHM2012.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage medium to large-scale transportation infrastructure projects.
  • Provide strategic leadership in the design of efficient and constructible civil engineering projects.
  • Estimate and allocate labor hours for design initiatives; review job costing reports and implement corrective measures as needed.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring satisfaction and alignment with client objectives.
  • Mentor junior design professionals to foster their development.
  • Engage in business development activities to expand our client base.
  • Participate in professional organizations and networking events.
