Position Summary: The Manufacturing Operations Supervisor is responsible for managing all aspects of production activities, including logistics and shipping and receiving (S&R). This role is crucial in ensuring that production adheres to high safety and quality standards, meets deadlines, and utilizes resources effectively. The Manufacturing Operations Supervisor collaborates closely with various departments such as quality assurance, production scheduling, and maintenance to ensure seamless production flow and identify opportunities for process enhancements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct the manufacturing and logistics teams to achieve objectives related to safety, quality, timely delivery, production throughput, continuous improvement, and cost efficiency.
  • Oversee daily production operations, ensuring adherence to schedules and effective utilization of resources including labor, materials, and machinery.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies in all production activities.
  • Collaborate with other departments to address production and logistical challenges and enhance operational processes.
  • Monitor production workflows, ensuring proper equipment usage, efficient processes, and adherence to quality standards.
  • Plan and manage projects related to production, including new product launches and process optimization initiatives.
  • Identify and implement improvements in production efficiency, quality, and cost management.
  • Lead and support the production and S&R teams, providing necessary resources and guidance for effective performance.
  • Manage hiring, training, and performance evaluations for direct reports, including promotions, transfers, or disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Coordinate with external suppliers for production materials, equipment maintenance, and logistics support.
  • Anticipate future production requirements to ensure the facility meets customer demands while maintaining cost efficiency.
  • Establish consistency and best practices across all production lines.
  • Maintain an inventory of production materials and equipment to minimize operational downtime.
  • Work closely with other departments, such as procurement and quality assurance, to ensure efficient production operations.
  • Supervise operator housekeeping and maintenance activities for production equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain relevant certifications, including IATF16949, ISO45001, and ISO14001.
  • Ensure all production records and documentation are accurate and current.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management regarding departmental issues or progress.
  • Coordinate with HR to ensure that safety systems related to production are functioning effectively.
  • Respond promptly to any safety hazards identified in the production area.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline, with 7 to 10 years of experience in production management, preferably within the manufacturing sector.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience overseeing production operations, including shipping and receiving functions.

Work Environment:

  • This position operates in both a manufacturing facility and an office setting, requiring hands-on support in a factory environment. Standard office equipment is routinely utilized.

Physical Requirements:

While executing job duties, the employee is regularly required to communicate respectfully. Frequent standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods are necessary.
