Position Overview:

The Manufacturing Operations Leader is tasked with the mission of establishing and perpetually enhancing a sustainable, world-class manufacturing facility that aims for zero accidents, zero defects, zero lead time, and zero cost growth. The goal is to design and manage a manufacturing environment that facilitates efficiency, quality, speed, and cost-effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operational functions through a team of Production Managers, Senior Materials Controllers, Planning Managers, and other key personnel to surpass performance metrics related to output, service levels, product availability, and cost management.
  • Lead process enhancements, manage manpower allocation, and ensure precise inventory control.
  • Develop and mentor team leaders to optimize resource use, quality, and timely delivery while addressing daily operational challenges.
  • Administer operational expense budgets, ensuring adherence to financial targets.
  • Evaluate team skills and implement employee development initiatives.
  • Manage human resources functions, including recruitment, staffing recommendations, coaching, and motivation of personnel.
  • Drive the TMP business to meet annual revenue and gross profit goals in alignment with regional and global strategies.
  • Provide strategic operational direction to align with business needs and report on progress regularly.
  • Implement the Vacuum Technique Production System (VTPS B) across all operational zones.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations, meeting ISO standards.
  • Formulate and execute strategies for manufacturing improvements aimed at cost reduction and quality enhancement.
  • Strengthen the manufacturing organization through effective leadership, recruitment, and competency development.
  • Collaborate with purchasing and materials management to align supply chain needs with operational requirements.
  • Manage materials functions to minimize purchasing costs while maximizing customer service levels.
  • Establish improvement targets and action plans to foster continuous improvement across all responsibilities.
  • Maintain succession planning for all reports to ensure operational continuity.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Engineering or a related Science discipline is preferred.
  • Advanced qualifications in Technology Management or similar fields are advantageous.
  • Extensive experience in a multi-disciplinary manufacturing setting.
  • Proven leadership capabilities, including coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
  • Demonstrated experience in change management and effective communication.
  • Strong operational results delivery in a manufacturing context.
  • Understanding of manufacturing financial principles.
  • Robust supply chain management skills; MCIPS or equivalent is desirable.
  • Experience with Lean principles is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills in both spoken and written English.
