Position Overview:
The Lead Manufacturing Engineer for Assembly Operations will play a pivotal role in enhancing our manufacturing capabilities for Turbomolecular Pumps (TMP). This position involves close collaboration with our technical authority in Japan, focusing on the development and maintenance of assembly and testing processes.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Generate and revise manufacturing process documentation, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.
2. Provide technical training to production staff to enhance their skill sets.
3. Identify and address equipment requirements on the production floor.
4. Support production efforts to minimize equipment downtime and reduce scrap through effective analytical methodologies.
5. Collaborate with subject matter experts during the design and sourcing of tools and fixtures for high-precision manufacturing processes.
6. Maintain updated layouts in response to new product introductions and other projects.
7. Follow the Change Review Worksheet process for new equipment introductions and assembly line redesigns.
8. Create and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), specifications, testing and packing procedures, routings, and Bills of Materials (BoMs) for relevant lines.
9. Investigate and address root causes of First Time Test Failure Rates (FTTFR) and non-conformities, proposing and implementing corrective actions.
10. Participate in Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA).
11. Utilize Lean, Six Sigma, and other best practice tools for continuous improvement and problem-solving.
12. Work with the Internal Audit team to conduct quality system audits annually.
13. Prepare and implement corrective actions for customer complaints.
14. Collaborate with production planners to ensure adequate documentation for released products.
15. Manage Engineering Changes and permits as necessary.
16. Engage in company projects aimed at cost reduction and enhancing machinery efficiency.

Qualifications:
1. A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in process development within a manufacturing setting is essential.
3. Proven experience in assembly line design and operations is highly desirable.
4. Strong knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and quality tools is required.
5. Proficiency in Microsoft 365, AutoCAD, and familiarity with modern IT processes is important; experience with SAP is a plus.
6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are essential.
7. Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills are required.
8. Willingness to undergo training in Japan is necessary.
9. Fluency in English (B2 level) is required.
