The Production Manager collaborates closely with various departments such as quality assurance, production scheduling, and maintenance to ensure seamless production flow and identify opportunities for process enhancements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct the manufacturing and logistics teams to achieve objectives related to safety, quality, timely delivery, production throughput, continuous improvement, and cost efficiency.
  • Oversee daily production activities, ensuring that schedules are adhered to and resources, including labor, materials, and machinery, are utilized optimally.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies throughout all production activities.
  • Collaborate with other departments to address production and logistical challenges and enhance operational processes.
  • Monitor production processes to ensure proper equipment usage, efficient workflows, and adherence to quality standards.
  • Plan and coordinate production-related projects, including new product launches and process optimization initiatives.
  • Identify and implement improvements in production efficiency, quality, and cost management.
  • Lead, manage, and support the production and S&R teams, providing necessary resources and guidance for effective performance.
  • Oversee the recruitment, training, and performance evaluation of direct reports, managing promotions, transfers, or disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Engage with external suppliers for production materials, equipment maintenance, and logistics support as required.
  • Anticipate future production requirements to ensure the facility can meet customer demands while maintaining cost efficiency.
  • Establish consistency and best practices across all production lines.
  • Maintain an inventory of production materials and equipment to minimize operational downtime.
  • Coordinate with departments such as procurement and quality assurance to ensure smooth production operations.
  • Supervise operator housekeeping and maintenance activities for production equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and uphold relevant certifications: IATF16949, ISO45001, and ISO14001.
  • Ensure accuracy and currency of all production records and documentation.
  • Provide regular updates to the VP of Operations regarding departmental issues or progress.
  • Ensure that safety systems related to production are functioning correctly, in collaboration with HR.
  • Respond promptly to any safety hazards identified in the production area.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline, with 7 to 10 years of experience in production management, preferably within the manufacturing sector.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience managing production operations, including shipping and receiving functions.

Work Environment:

  • This role primarily operates in both a manufacturing facility and an office setting, providing hands-on support in a factory environment. Standard office equipment is routinely utilized.

Physical Requirements:

  • The physical demands outlined here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. While executing the responsibilities of this role, the employee is regularly required to communicate respectfully. The employee frequently stands, walks, and sits for extended periods. Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. This position may require the ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
