Position Overview

First Solar is seeking a qualified individual for the role of Manufacturing Engineering Integration Manager. This position entails significant training commitments at various locations, which may include extended periods in different states or internationally, prior to permanent placement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the qualification processes for new products and ensure a smooth transition into production. The Integration Manager will guide a team focused on achieving established targets for Wattage, Quality, Reliability, Yield, and Throughput as outlined in the manufacturing qualification protocols.
  • Lead daily operations to monitor and enhance factory performance metrics, particularly Wattage and Cascade Yield, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement to achieve best-in-class status among facilities.
  • Provide mentorship and training to engineering staff on integration processes, ensuring all personnel are equipped to adapt to new methodologies and improvements.
  • Facilitate effective collaboration with development engineering, quality assurance, and operational teams to ensure successful implementation of process changes.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years in an engineering leadership capacity, with 5 to 8 years of relevant process engineering experience in a manufacturing context, ideally within high-tech sectors such as semiconductor or photovoltaic industries.
  • Demonstrated ability in project management, with a track record of managing multiple projects under stringent timelines.
  • Experience leading large-scale projects in both domestic and international manufacturing environments.
Essential Skills:
  • Strong leadership and project management capabilities.
  • Comprehensive understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering practices.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9000 standards and statistical process control tools.
  • Proficient in Six Sigma methodologies, including DMAIC and FMEA.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and the ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats.
  • Proficient in MS Office and statistical analysis software.
Core Duties:
  • Implement and oversee new processes from product qualification through to full-scale production.
  • Drive initiatives for process optimization and variation reduction to enhance production efficiency.
  • Supervise and conduct performance evaluations for the team of Manufacturing Engineers and Technicians.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment on process standards and equipment evaluations.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Travel Requirements:
  • Willingness to travel 10% - 20% as needed.
Salary Range:
  • $122,800 - $175,000, Annually.

Candidates must be able to perform physical tasks associated with the role, including lifting, standing, and wearing personal protective equipment as required.
