An exciting opportunity exists for a Field Service Engineer specializing in Integrated Control Systems (ICS). In this role, you will deliver technical assistance on Automation Systems provided by Kongsberg Maritime.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide service and support on board vessels utilizing Kongsberg Systems.
- Troubleshoot issues through remote assistance via phone and email.
- Execute service tasks as per customer requests.
- Ensure timely and precise completion of service documentation, including reports and timesheets.
- Produce and update As-Built Documentation and Drawings.
- Enhance personal qualifications through training programs.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams by providing technical insights.
- Interface effectively with customers and internal engineering teams.
- Willingness to travel extensively, up to 50-70%.
Core Duties:
- Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on Kongsberg control systems.
- Interpret technical drawings and control system architecture.
- Utilize multimeters and software tools for troubleshooting communication or loop errors.
- Demonstrate understanding of Power Management Systems and generator control functionality.
- Troubleshoot and modify HVAC and Fire & Gas control systems.
- Modify control logic as necessary.
- Familiarity with communication protocols such as Profibus, TCP/IP, and Modbus.
- Complete and submit timesheets and expenses promptly.
- Take ownership of assigned cases and service trips.
- Propose enhancements to products and communicate needs to management.
- Suggest available upgrades and new products to customers during service visits.
- Implement actions to mitigate errors in delivery and after-sales services.
- Assist Key Support Managers with aftersales quotations.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Electromechanical, or Computer Engineering, or equivalent industry/military training.
- Knowledge of electrical and electronic control system principles, including PID controllers and communication protocols.
- Ability to produce and interpret technical documentation.
- Proficient in troubleshooting low voltage electrical components and using multimeters.
- Experience with PLC/SCADA systems is highly desirable.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Ability to perform under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills with fluency in English.
