An exceptional opportunity exists for a Field Service Engineer specializing in Integrated Control Systems (ICS). In this role, you will deliver technical assistance on Automation Systems provided by Kongsberg Maritime. Your responsibilities will encompass working with various systems, including Power Management, Fire & Gas, Emergency Shutdown, Custody Transfer, and Gas Management Systems, among others, in both upgrade and after-sale scenarios.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide service support on vessels equipped with KM Systems.
  • Conduct troubleshooting through phone and email support channels.
  • Execute service tasks as per customer requests.
  • Ensure timely and precise completion of service documentation, including reports and expense submissions.
  • Update and produce As-Built Documentation and Drawings.
  • Enhance personal qualifications through various training programs.
  • Assist sales and marketing teams with technical insights.
  • Collaborate with customers and internal engineering teams.
  • Be prepared to travel up to 50-70% of the time.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver preventative and corrective maintenance for Kongsberg control systems.
  • Interpret and analyze technical drawings and control system architectures.
  • Utilize multimeters and software tools for troubleshooting communication or loop issues.
  • Comprehend Power Management Systems, including generator and governor control functionalities.
  • Troubleshoot and modify HVAC and Fire & Gas control systems.
  • Possess the ability to add or adjust control logic.
  • Be familiar with communication protocols such as Profibus, TCP/IP, and Modbus.
  • Complete and submit timesheets and expenses promptly.
  • Take ownership of assigned cases and service trips.
  • Propose enhancements to products and communicate needs to the Service Manager or product department.
  • Proactively recommend available upgrades and new products to customers during service visits.
  • Implement measures to prevent errors in service delivery.
  • Support Key Support Managers with aftersales quotations.
Basic Qualifications:
  • A degree in Electrical, Electronics, Electromechanical, or Computer Engineering, or equivalent military/industry training.
  • Understanding of fundamental Electrical/Electronic control system principles, including PID controllers and communication protocols.
  • Capability to produce and interpret technical documentation.
  • Experience troubleshooting low voltage electrical components and using multimeters.
  • Experience with PLC/SCADA systems and their architectures is highly desirable.
  • Customer service-oriented mindset.
  • Able to perform under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills and fluency in English.
